ESPN/ ABC outlines Nationwide & Sprint Cup coverage for Aug. 23 & 24

The Sprint Cup race will conclude a triple header Saturday of live sports on ABC. The Nationwide Series claims a Friday Night Spot on ESPN. The details are below from ESPN Media Zone.

NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series in Prime Time at Bristol
The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will race under the lights at the half-mile Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway this weekend with both races airing in prime time. ABC will have a live telecast of the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Saturday night, Aug. 24. NASCAR Countdown airs at 7 p.m. ET with the race’s green flag at 7:43 p.m.  The NASCAR Nationwide Series races on ESPN on Friday night, Aug. 23, withCountdown at 7 p.m. and the green at 7:44 p.m. Also from Bristol, ESPN2 will air Sprint Cup qualifying on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

NASCAR’s Kahne in SportsCenter “My Wish” Series
NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kasey Kahne joins stars of other sports as participants in the eighth annual ESPN SportsCenter “My Wish” series. The summer series chronicles sports-themed wishes by Make-A-Wish® for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Kahne grants a wish on Sunday, Aug. 20, on the 6 p.m. ET edition of SportsCenter. Rylee Durham, a 12-year-old who suffers from Noonan’s syndrome, gets to meet her favorite driver at the famous Daytona International Speedway. Click HERE for a preview clip.

NASCAR Now Schedule
ESPN2’s daily NASCAR news and information program NASCAR Now will preview the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway in the one-hour edition airing Saturday, Aug. 24, at noon ET. Host Mike Massaro will be joined in the studio by ESPN NASCAR analystRicky Craven with reporters Marty Smith and Jim Noble at the track. NHRA Lucas Oil Series Action Airs Sunday Night
The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series has the weekend off but fans can watch action featuring the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series on Sunday night, Aug. 25, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The program will feature highlights from the recent event in Brainerd, Minn.
Immediately prior at 8:30 p.m., an episode of NHRA Thrills and Spills will air, also on ESPN2.

ESPN.com — RacingLive! on ESPN.com is a live blog where fans can engage in debate and discussion with ESPN.com writers and editors during the NASCAR Sprint Cup races. On Saturday, Aug. 24, RacingLive! Bristol will coincide with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
