FOX UFC Saturday & Gold Cup Championship highlight Fox Sports weekend coverage

Fox Sports has had a very busy week. While Big XII Media Day was shown on regional affiliates in Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Sports Midwest, it was FSN that did all the coverage for Big 12 Digital Network. They've also had multiple baseball games, and the week will end with a bang, especially for the main FOX Sports. MLB on FOX, UFC on FOX, and the Gold Cup Championship between the US and Mexico will certainly keep people entertained this weekend. Below is the Media Release outlining these events, and more, from Fox Sports Media Groups.

FLORIAN PREDICTS: JOHNSON TOO FAST, WILL RETAIN UFC BELT AT FOX UFC SATURDAY – This Saturday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight title is on the line at FOX UFC SATURDAY: JOHNSON VS. MORAGA, where current belt holder Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (17-2-1) faces off against No. 1 contender John Moraga (13-1-0), LIVE in primetime Saturday, July 27 (8:00 PM ET) on FOX. UFC TONIGHT’s Kenny Florian believes that Johnson’s speed will be the difference in the fight. “Demetrious Johnson is so fast, and makes himself faster with the feints and the variety of his strikes. He’s able to confuse guys and he adjusts. His pace will be too hard to match and he’ll keep the belt,” said Florian. Prior to the title fight, FOX Sports features Canadian phenom Rory MacDonald (14-1-0) against knockout artist Jake Ellenberger (29-6-0) in a clash of welterweight contenders, and “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler (20-9-0, 1NC) battles Bobby Voelker (24-9-0) in another 170-pound matchup. Plus, U.S. Marine Corps veteran Liz Carmouche (7-3-0) tackles talented newcomer Jessica Andrade (9-2-0). UFC announcers Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan call all bouts on FOX Sports including preliminary matches airing live on FX beginning at 5:00 PM ET. Host Jon Anik, Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann offer analysis for preliminary bouts on FX, with host Curt Menefee, Stann and Sonnen handling analysis for fights on FOX Sports.

RECENTLY RETIRED UFC FIGHTER STANN JOINS ANALYST TEAM FOR FOX UFC SATURDAY SHOWS – Over the past year, UFC middleweight fighter Brian Stann (12-6-0) divided his time between fighting and working as an analyst on the FOX Sports and FUEL TV coverage of UFC fights. After recently announcing his retirement, Stann picks up the mic again for the FOX UFC SATURDAY weigh-in show, which airs live on FUEL TV Friday, July 26 (7:00 PM ET). He joins host Jon Anik, and current UFC light heavyweight Chael Sonnen as an analyst. He’ll also serve the same role on Saturday, July 27 (10:00 PM ET) for the FUEL TV UFC postfight show, where he, host Anik and Sonnen break down the biggest and best moments of the evening, live from KeyArena. In addition to his UFC analyst roles, Stann calls ACC college football games for FOX Sports South this fall.

NL’S BEST TAKE CENTERSTAGE ON FOX – Fresh off a successful All-Star Game, the FOX
SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK returns Saturday, July 27 (2:30 PM ET) with three
exciting matchups. Each sporting powerful outfield bats such as Carlos Beltran, Matt Holiday, Jason
Heyward and Justin Upton, the Cardinals-Braves matchup can expect fireworks in Atlanta. Joe Buck,
Eric Karros and Ken Rosenthal call the action from Turner Field in Atlanta, GA. Out west, both the A’s
and Dodgers have rebounded from slow starts to lead the AL and NL West divisions as they meet in
Oakland. NL East rivals meet as the Nationals host David Wright and the Mets.

Coverage begins with the FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL PREGAME SHOW originating live from MLB
Network’s state-of-the-art Studio 3 in Secaucus, NJ. This week, longtime FOX Sports and MLB Network
broadcaster Matt Vasgersian is joined by analysts Kevin Millar and Dan Plesac.

ROSENTHAL: A-ROD SAGA MULTI-LAYERED, LAWYERED – After the news of Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun’s suspension for performance-enhancing drug use, many questions have arisen in the continued saga of Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. MLB on reporter and FOXSports.com featured columnist Ken Rosenthal explored these questions in his latest column. “If you had to bet, which would you say Alex Rodriguez stands a better chance of doing? Returning to form as a healthy player for the New York Yankees, or avoiding a monstrous suspension from baseball?” Rosenthal writes. “How all this turns out is anyone’s guess; two days ago, few would have predicted that Braun would accept a 65-game suspension. But Rodriguez clearly faces long odds, in both his physical battle to revive his career and his legal battle with baseball.”

ONE POINT DIVIDES TOP MOTOCROSS RACERS WITH FOUR STOPS LEFT - The world’s best motocross racers head to Red Bull Spring Creek National in Millville, MN. for round 9 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. While Ryan Villopoto has extended his lead to a comfortable 47 points over Ryan Dungey in the 450 Class, the 250 Class has taken all the attention as only one point separates frontrunner Ken Roczen (356 points) over challenger Eli Tomac (355). After a first-place finish at the last stop, Tomac is putting the pressure on Roczen. Through eight rounds, Tomac holds the most victories of the season with three, surpassing Roczen's two overall wins. FUEL TV telecasts the first round motos of the Red Bull Spring Creek National on Saturday, July 27 (1:00 PM ET).

GEORGE: RB’S TO LEAD BIG 12 – While attending the Big 12 Media Days in Dallas this week, FOX
Sports college football analyst Eddie George discussed the two things that stood out to him about the
conference: its lack of quarterback experience and its strength at the running back position. “From Texas
Tech to Kansas, they all have a running back they can rely on, and that’s what makes it really intriguing
to see who’s going to step up to the forefront and take the Big 12. Top to bottom, there’s not a lot of
separation. It’s always been an exciting conference to watch, but really more so because of the lack of
experience at the quarterback position.”

KLATT: TCU IS BIG 12 FAVORITE – Also at Big 12 Media Days, FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt
explained why he thinks TCU is an early favorite for the conference championship. “For me this year, the
best quarterback in the conference is Casey Pachall. He’s done it before, he’s proven himself, and if he
can get himself somewhat good between the ears, TCU is a team that’s going to walk away with this
conference title. They have the best defense, the best defensive player, and the best quarterback. And
that equates to a conference championship.”

Fox releases information on "The American Way" Tornado Tribute

Virtually every Fox Sports platform will air "The American way" sometime this weekend. This includes MLB on FSN matches, the races on SPEED and FUEL, the FOX Saturday Game of the Week, the UFC on FX, the Gold Cup on Fox Soccer, Australian Rules Football on Fox Soccer Plus, and who knows how many other places. Here's the press release from Fox Sports outlining more broadcast details.

Special Features to Debut Across FOX Sports Properties on July 4

Click to view “The American Way” on FOXSports.com:

FOX Sports will honor the victims of the Moore, Oklahoma tornado with special features that
will run across a variety of FOX Sports networks beginning Thursday, July 4th
The City of Moore was hit by a devastating tornado on May 20 that took the lives of 24 people
and injured hundreds.

The features, which will be themed “The American Way,” will make their debut in the pregame
shows of more than a dozen Major League Baseball telecasts produced by FOX Sports
regional networks on Independence Day. The features will then continue to run across FOX
Sports properties through the weekend, including the FOX Saturday Baseball Game of the
Week on July 6, as well as during programming on SPEED, FUEL TV, and FOX Soccer.

“The American Way” showcases those who reached out to their fellow Americans and examines
how communities far from Moore, Oklahoma used their love for baseball and softball to help
Oklahoma recover, rebuild, and remember those who were lost.

The outpouring of support depicted in “The American Way” is best symbolized in the efforts to
memorialize Sydney Angle, the nine year old who tragically lost her life inside the Plaza
Towers Elementary School along with six other children when the tornado struck. Sydney was
a star player on her softball team, and her story has drawn attention from baseball and softball
communities across the country.

"The American Way," CONCACAF Gold Cup, and Motor Cross outline Fox Sports weekend coverage outside of baseball

Most of us know about the Gold Cup starting this weekend, and most Motor Cross fans know that FUEL TV typically airs the Moto I events live while NBC Sports Network has the back end of the Lucas Oil races. However Fox Sports is going out to produce a special feature, "The America Way," which will cover victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. It is a feature that will air on all FSN affiliates and is being made available online starting tomorrow, July 4. If it's anywhere near as touching as the description sounds, you can bet it's something most sports fans that actually have human emotions will want to see.

For our Spanish fans, both CONCACAF Gold Cup matches will be on Univision and Univision Deportes Sunday. Here is the press release from Fox outlining this weeks events.

FOX PRESENTS EXCLUSIVE LIVE COVERAGE OF ALL-STAR SELECTION SHOW – Leading in to the FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK, MLB on FOX exclusively presents live coverage of the 2013 MLB All-Star Selection Show Saturday, July 6 (6:30 PM ET), announcing the starting lineups and reserves for the American and National League team rosters. The selection show is hosted by Matt Vasgersian and originates from MLB Network’s state-of-the-art Studio 3 in Secaucus, NJ. MLB’s All-Star Balloting Program is the largest of its kind in professional sports, and last year produced a record-shattering total of 40.2 million ballots cast. Voting at MLB.com concludes on Thursday, July 4 at 11:59 PM ET. The 84th MLB All-Star Game will be played at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets, on Tuesday, July 16 on FOX Sports with pregame coverage beginning at 7:30 PM ET.

ROSENTHAL: DESERVING ALL-STAR AT SECOND BASE MAY SURPRISE YOU – MLB on FOX lead reporter Ken Rosenthal chimes in on the top stories around baseball, including which overlooked
second baseman deserves a spot as an All-Star. “Take a guess: Which player has the highest OPS of
any second baseman in the American League?” Rosenthal asks in his latest column for FOXSports.com.
“Not Robinson Cano. Not Dustin Pedroia. Not Howie Kendrick or Ian Kinsler. Nope, the leader is
Jason Kipnis of the Indians. Kipnis, 26, stands almost no chance of overtaking Cano in the All-Star fan
balloting. He might not make the team at all, considering Pedroia’s all-around brilliance and Kendrick’s
scorching performance in June. Still, consider the OPS standings at second: Kipnis: .917. Cano: .868.
Pedroia: .843. Kendrick: .833. Is Kipnis an All-Star? Sure looks like it.”

FOX SPORTS FEATURE “THE AMERICAN WAY” HONORS VICTIMS OF OKLAHOMA TORNADO
This Independence Day weekend, FOX Sports proudly airs “The American Way,” a special feature
dedicated to those affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma and those that came to their aid. Shot in
Moore, OK, where a devastating tornado took 24 lives in May, the feature showcases the ways in which
the nation’s softball and baseball communities pitched in to help Oklahoma recover, rebuild and
memorialize those who were lost. The feature mixes iconic images of America’s heartland with local
news footage and intimate interviews with individuals who lived through the tornado, symbolized in the
tragic story of nine-year-old Sydney Angle, who lost her life inside the Plaza Towers Elementary school.
“The American Way” acknowledges those who reached out to their fellow Americans and examines how
baseball and softball brought a measure of healing through the sorrow in the storm’s aftermath. The
feature airs across FOX Sports properties during a variety of programming and online beginning July 4.

CONCACAF GOLD CUP KICKS OFF WITH LIVE DOUBLEHEADER SUNDAY – For the first time ever, FOX Sports Media Group televises all 25 matches of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, beginning with the doubleheader opener live Sunday, July 7 (5:00 PM ET) on FOX Soccer, as Canada takes on Martinique followed by Mexico vs. Panama at 7:30 PM ET. Gus Johnson calls the action from Mexico’s first match live from Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, with analysis from US Soccer Hall of Famer Cobi Jones. Rob Stonehosts on-site pregame, halftime and postgame coverage with analysts Eric Wynalda and Warren Barton.

SILVA’S SEVEN-YEAR REIGN ENDS AT UFC 162, SAYS SONNEN – Anderson Silva is one of the greatest UFC Champions of all time, and the middleweight belt holder has not lost in the Octagon since
2006, but FUEL TV’s UFC TONIGHT analyst and current light heavyweight Chael Sonnen believes
Silva’s unbeaten streak ends this weekend against undefeated No. 1 contender Chris Weidman at UFC
162: SILVA vs. WEIDMAN. “Weidman will take Anderson down at will during the fight, and I believe he
blows past Anderson’s guard and finishes him,” said Sonnen. “Chris will get to Anderson’s head, hurt him with ground and pound, and submit Anderson within three rounds with a D’arce choke or something
similar. Weidman is a younger version of me - and a better version when it comes to aspects like top
game. Weidman is going to have the same success I had with a ground attack, but then he’s going to
choke Anderson. The seven-year reign is over.” Sonnen works as an analyst this weekend for FUEL
TV’s UFC 162 WEIGH-IN SHOW on Friday, July 5 (7:00 PM ET) alongside host Jay Glazer and UFC
middleweight Brian Stann. The UFC 162 PRELIMS air on FX on Saturday, July 6 (8:00 PM ET). FUEL
TV wraps up the evening’s coverage with the UFC 162 POSTFIGHT SHOW (1:00 AM ET), hosted by
Glazer, with heavyweight Daniel Cormier joining Sonnen and Stann as an analyst. Three-time MMA
journalist of the year Ariel Helwani conducts postfight interviews.

VILLOPOTO PROVED HE’S THE FASTEST, BUT DUNGEY MUCH CLOSER IN MOTOCROSS
SEASON - Round 7 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship celebrates Independence Day
with its annual visit to Buchanan, MI, and the Red Bull RedBud National on FUEL TV Saturday, July 6
(1:00 PM ET). Following last weekend’s victory in Southwick, MA, Ryan Dungey (Belle Plaine, MN) trails
Ryan Villopoto (Poulsbo, WA) by only 12 points in the standings. With the season passing the halfway
mark, FUEL TV analyst Jeff Emig believes neither can make a mistake if they want to win the overall
title. “At the halfway point, Dungey is much closer to challenging Villopoto than he was at the beginning
of the season,” said Emig. “However Villopoto has proved he’s the fastest guy out there. The two don’t
have any weaknesses, but they can’t make any mistakes. Each moto has to be a perfect race. Each
knows they have to bring it and keep getting better.”

UFC & MotorSports come to FUEL June 8

With the Sprint Cup series heading over to TNT this week, FOX Sports will spend most of their time devoted to Qualifying legs on SPEED and to the UFC and AMA on FUEL. This press release highlights FOX's focus on the UFC and AMA this Saturday.

KEY HEAVYWEIGHT MATCHUP AT UFC ON FUEL TV 10: NOGUEIRA VS. WERDUM THIS WEEKEND – Two of the top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweights in the world meet again on their home turf in Brazil when The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 2 coaches Minotauro
Nogueira (34-7-1, 1NC) and Fabricio Werdum (16-5-1) battle at UFC ON FUEL TV 10. The event takes
place at the Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Brazil, LIVE on FUEL TV Saturday, June 8 (8:00 PM
ET). The No. 3 ranked heavyweight in the world, Werdum, and the eighth-ranked Nogueira, revisit their
2006 PRIDE bout in the Octagon. If Werdum wins, he could be next in line for a heavyweight title bout.
The main event is preceded by five exciting matchups, including TUF Brazil Season 2 finale welterweight
William “Patolino” Macario against Leonardo Santos. Light heavyweight Thiago Silva (14-3-0, 2NC)
faces former Strikeforce champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante (11-3-0, 1NC), middleweight Daniel
Sarafian (8-3-0) squares-off with Eddie Mendez (7-1-1, 1NC), and welterweight rising star Erick Silva
(14-3-0, 1NC) challenges Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High (17-3-0). The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 1
winner Rony Jason (13-3-0) takes on Mike “The Warrior” Wilkinson (8-0-0) in an exciting
featherweight bout. Announcers Jon Anik and Kenny Florian call all bouts live from Fortaleza on FUEL
TV.

FUEL TV offers complete coverage of UFC ON FUEL TV 10 kicking off on Friday, June 7 (3:00 PM ET)
with the weigh-in LIVE from Fortaleza. The weigh-in program is hosted by Molly Qerim, with analysis
from UFC light heavyweight Chael Sonnen and UFC middleweight Brian Stann. The UFC PREFIGHT
SHOW begins on Saturday, June 8 (7:00 PM ET) with host Jay Glazer and analysts Sonnen and Stann
previewing the main card action. FUEL TV wraps coverage of the evening’s fights at 11:00 PM ET with
the UFC POSTFIGHT SHOW, featuring Glazer, Sonnen and Stann highlighting the biggest and best
moments of the evening’s fights. Karyn Bryant provides interviews backstage live from the Paulo
Sarasate Arena.

WERDUM NEEDS WIN AT UFC ON FUEL TV 10 MORE THAN NOGUEIRA, SAYS SONNEN – When UFC heavyweights Minotauro “Big Nog” Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum face off this weekend at UFC ON FUEL TV 10, UFC TONIGHT analyst Chael Sonnen expects a great fight. While praising Nogueira’s ability and legacy in the business, he questions whether his time has passed, and believes
that Werdum holds the edge with youth, speed and hunger. “We’ve all been waiting for Big Nog to quit
fighting, and we need to accept that he’s still got it,” says Sonnen. “This guy can still fight. He’s ranked
No. 8 in the world, and that might be a little bit low but he’s going to be tested with Werdum. Werdum
needs this a little bit more. He’s a little sharper right now. Werdum should win this fight.” Follow the link

separating the top two competitors, overall leader Ryan Villopoto and second place rider Ryan Dungey,
Dungey carries the momentum into this weekend after securing his first overall win this season at the last
stop.

Auto Sports on FOX and FUEL June 1-2

FOX is advertising the racing season finale for FOX Sports and the first ever broadcast of X-Fighters Freestyle Motocross from Japan as the big race highlights of the weekend. Below is the press release from FOX.

2013 NASCAR ON FOX SEASON FINALE THIS SUNDAY – The NASCAR on FOX team signs off on its 2013 coverage on Sunday, June 2 (12:30 PM ET) with NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing from Dover, DE.

Host Chris Myers welcomes viewers inside the friendly confines of the Hollywood Hotel to cover
NASCAR’s most recent news and happenings with analysis from Michael Waltrip and Darrell Waltrip.
This week’s prerace sets the scene for the second half of the Sprint Cup season. Once the green flag
drops, race announcer Mike Joy is alongside analysts Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds to call all
the exciting action while Steve Byrnes, Krista Voda and Matt Yocum patrol the pits for reports on
teams and pit stops. FOX Sports’ Jeff Hammond serves as the network’s roving analyst, taking fans
from the garages to pit road and everywhere in between at Dover International Speedway.

For instant updates during the week from the entire NASCAR on FOX crew, follow us on Twitter at
http://twitter.com/NASCARONFOX, on Instagram at http://instagram.com/foxsports or on GetGlue at

content by logging on to www.facebook.com/foxsports.

MCREYNOLDS: WATCH OUT FOR KURT BUSCH — Following yet another impressive performance
this past weekend in Charlotte by driver Kurt Busch, NASCAR on FOX analyst Larry McReynolds
believes this is the former champion's best shot in recent years to make the 2013 Chase. "Busch and
crew chief Todd Berrier and the entire Furniture Row team continue to amaze and impress week after
week," said McReynolds. "Kurt started on the outside of the front row in Charlotte, and ran in the top five
almost all night." McReynolds was quick to point out how Busch's battery dying during the red flag
stoppage of Sunday’s race didn't stop his team. "They were able to get the battery changed and still
fought back to a third-place finish, which is nothing short of amazing. This is a team that can make its
way into the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup."

NASCAR REVS UP SUPPORT FOR AUTISM SPEAKS WITH CELEBRITY-AM GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Drive for Autism Celebrity-Am Golf Outing tees off on Thursday, May 29, at DuPont Country Club in
Wilmington, DE, as part of the events surrounding the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks. The
tournament is chaired by NASCAR on FOX director Artie Kempner, with several NASCAR on FOX
personalities in attendance. On Sunday, Dover International Speedway, NASCAR, FedEx and the
national advocacy organization Autism Speaks partner to create an autism-friendly NASCAR race
experience for families. Families impacted by autism can attend the “Autism Speaks Day at the Races,”
which features pre-race presentations by advocates and experts. During the race, a dedicated quiet zone
in the grandstand allows parents to bring their children to a sensory-friendly place to get away from the
crowd and noise and take in the action.

X-FIGHTERS FREESTYLE MOTOCROSS TOUR HITS JAPAN FOR FIRST TIME – The Red Bull XFighters 2013 World Tour heads to Japan for the first time ever when the world’s best freestyle
motocross (FMX) riders perform in Osaka at the fourth stop of this year's thrilling six-round championship
battle. FUEL TV telecasts the contest live on Saturday, June 1 (6:30 AM ET). Japan’s own Taka
Higashino is one to watch after taking third at the last round in Glen Helen, CA. However, France’s
Thomas Pagès, the winner of the season opener in Mexico City, is leading the tour standings following
his second-place finish in Glen Helen. Dubai winner Dany Torres of Spain (210 points) and Glen Helen
victor Rob Adelberg (210 points) are close behind. Another rider to watch is defending champion Levi
Sherwood of New Zealand (145 points), who remains in the thick of the battle.

NEW TRACK TESTS RACERS ON LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS – For the first time in 15 years, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship makes a stop in the Southeast for the
inaugural running of the Built Ford Tough Tennessee National at the historic Muddy Creek Raceway in
Blountville, TN. The third stop of the tour takes live on FUEL TV Saturday, June 1 (3:00 PM ET) when
the network telecasts the second motos. Ryan Villopoto has started the 2013 season perfectly, winning
all four 450 Class motos through the first two rounds of competition. Sitting second overall in the
championship standings, reigning champion Ryan Dungey is all too familiar with the runner-up position
early in the season. After James Stewart swept the first four motos of 2012, it wasn't until round three
that Dungey began a win streak that lasted ten motos. Dungey has been in lead contention all season
long, and the Minnesota native looks to secure his first win at an all-new venue that has the potential to
deliver an even playing field for everyone.
