The Global Rally Cross Championship gets the racing weekend of to an early start, but Sprint Cup & Nationwide really steal the show this weekend. Here's your schedule of events followed by ESPN's press release.

NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series in Phoenix Action


The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is down to two races remaining and the Chase moves to the 1-mile Phoenix International Raceway this weekend for a 500-kilometer race on Sunday, Nov. 10. ESPN will have a live telecast with NASCAR Countdown at 2 p.m. ET and the race’s green flag at 3:15 p.m., with the telecast presented by Quicken Loans. The NASCAR Nationwide Series also races at PIR on Saturday, Nov. 9. ESPN2 will have a live telecast with NASCAR Countdown at 3:30 p.m. and the green flag at 4:16 p.m. All NASCAR programming on ESPN and ESPN2 is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets through WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app.

NHRA Season Finale at Pomona on ESPN2, ESPN3 
The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season comes to a close this weekend with the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Pomona, Calif., and drag racing fans will be able to watch action from both qualifying and eliminations on ESPN2 and ESPN3. Global Rallycross Season Finale in Las Vegas on ESPN2
The 2013 season for the Global Rallycross Championship comes to an end on Thursday, Nov. 7, in Las Vegas and ESPN2 will televise the race at 7 p.m. ET. RallyCross combines the best aspects of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition to deliver intense action in a variety of fan-friendly environments. Fans can expect to see door-to-door racing on a combination of dirt and asphalt surfaces, featuring drifting turns, jumps and water elements. The Las Vegas circuit is set up on the famous Las Vegas Strip.

NASCAR Now Weekend Wrap-up Show Airs Sunday night
ESPN2’s NASCAR news and information program NASCAR Now will review the next-to-last race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Phoenix International Raceway in the episode airing Sunday night, Nov. 10, at 10 p.m. ET. Host Todd Grisham will be joined in the studio by ESPN NASCAR analyst Ricky Craven with reporter Marty Smith at the track. The week’s schedule:

Nationwide Sunday afternoon & other Motorsports on ESPN Networks July 8-14

ESPN has most of the racing covered this week with their coverage of the Nationwide Series Sunday afternoon. They will also air NHRA racing, the American Le Mans Series in Canada, and the Global Rallycross from Bristol, Connecticut. Below is the ESPN Media Zone Press Release with all the details.

NASCAR Nationwide Series at Chicago on ESPN
The NASCAR Nationwide Series races at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., on Sunday, July 21, and ESPN will have a live telecast of the 300-mile race. NASCAR Countdown airs at 2:30 p.m. ET with the race’s green flag at 3:17 p.m. Also from Chicagoland, ESPN2 will air qualifying on Sunday at 11 a.m. All NASCAR programming on ESPN networks is also available on computers, smartphones and tablets through WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app.
The Chicagoland race will be the third of four consecutive events that comprise the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dash 4 Cash, a bonus program that will award an extra $100,000 to the highest-finishing of four eligible drivers in each of the four designated races and could award an additional $600,000 at the fourth race at Indianapolis next month.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series begins its annual three-race Western Swing with the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals this weekend and drag racing fans can watch qualifying and eliminations on both ESPN2 and ESPN3. Global Rallycross Making Bristol Debut Live on ESPN
Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, famous for its high banks and short track action, will host racing of a different kind when Global Rallycross competes at the track for the first time on Saturday, July 20. The event will air live on ESPN at 4:30 p.m. ET. RallyCross combines the best aspects of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition to deliver intense action in a variety of fan-friendly environments. Bristol’s unique GRC layout features a mix of both dirt and concrete, with much of the dirt running through the track’s infield. The concrete turns will see cars race on up to 30 degrees of banking.

American Le Mans Series in Canada Live on ESPN2, ESPN3
The American Le Mans Series goes north of the border this week to compete at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park near Toronto and ESPN2 will join the race in progress for a live telecast on Sunday, July 21, at 1 p.m. ET. ESPN3 will air the entire race with the telecast beginning at 11:45 a.m. Also, ESPN3 will air qualifying on Saturday, July 20, at 3:20 p.m. All American Le Mans Series programming on ESPN2 and ESPN3 also is available on computers, smartphones and tablets through WatchESPN and the WatchESPN app.
