Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) adds ESPN3 as broadcast partner

Unless you had Dish Network, DirecTV, or AT&T U-Verse, you might have wondered how you could watch the FXFL games beginning next week. In news announced today, all FXFL games will be streamed live on ESPN3. The FXFL joins the Arena Football League (outside of CBSSN games) and the Canadian Football League with all their games being streamed by the network.

Here's the release.
"The new FXFL developmental league has signed a deal with ESPN to have its games broadcast online and through the ESPN app.

The league begins play with four teams next Wednesday when Boston plays at Omaha. Commissioner Brian Woods calls having ESPN involved with its Game of the Week broadcasts "very exciting and important."

Another team is located in Brooklyn, and the fourth, called the Blacktips, will play all road games in 2014.

Woods already lined up regional television platforms for the prime-time games, most of which will be played on Wednesdays, but some on Fridays. Woods says that the league can reach more than 99 million homes through the affiliation with ESPN.

The Fall Experimental Football League is designed as a home for players who didn't make it into the NFL, but are seeking another shot. Rosters will have less than 40 players on game days."

Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) begins next week

The FXFL begins action next week. If you're like me, you're probably asking what on each is the FXFL and why should I care? The FXFL stands for the Fall Experimental Football League. It will suit up with 4 teams. Currently 3 of the teams are scheduled to play 5 games while one team, the Blacktips, are scheduled to play only 3 games, all road games. The Blacktips were originally supposed to be located in Miami and go by the name Florida, but they dropped the Florida part after not finding a home venue.

The lack of a home venue for the Blacktips also altered the schedule intentions of the FXFL. The FXFL was originally hoping that each team would be able to play a home-and-home series. 

The games are scheduled to be televised on regional sports networks across the US. SNY (Brooklyn), NESN (Boston), Cox Sports South (Blacktips), Comcast Northwest, Comcast Chicago, and Altitude (Omaha) will carry the games. 

For those wondering why the strange Comcast Northwest broadcast, one of the two teams originally announced that will not play this season is Portland. As for why Comcast Chicago is on there, I have no idea. I suspect Time Warner's Texas Channel would be added if the Austin Outlaws were playing this season. Below is the current schedule.

2014 Little League World Series US Region Championship TV & Streaming Schedules

Beginning this Friday, the Little League World Series is back in action on the networks of ESPN and NESN. No, you are not reading that incorrectly. NESN will carry 6 Little League World Series games leading up to the Region Championship.

6 of the 8 regions will either be televised or streamed. If you are wanting to watch the Mid-Atlantic or Southeast Regions before the semifinals, sorry, but there seems to be no love for them.  They will have at least 2 broadcast teams Indianapolis, as the Midwest & Great Lakes Regions will share the same venue but use different fields in that venue. The West & Northwest Regions will use the same venue and the same field, rotating which region plays at a certain time.

All Region Championships and most Semi-finals will be shown on ESPN or ESPN2. Announcing information is listed below the schedule.
