Top stat: During last Saturday's marathon broadcast, Warner Brothers Discovery Sports' Brian Anderson revealed that Houston/Seattle was the fourth postseason MLB game to reach the 18th, and in all four cases a homerun has been hit in the top of the 18th.
Hustle Award: As the NBA season gets underway, Kevin Harlan will call 4 games over 5 days and 6 games over 8 days time. The hustle began Sunday, October 16 with New England/Cleveland on CBS, continued Monday, October 17 with Denver/LA Chargers on Westwood One, and will feature LA Lakers/Golden State Tuesday on TNT, LA Clippers/LA Lakers Thursday on TNT, Cleveland/Baltimore on Sunday, October 23 on CBS, and Chicago/New England on Monday, October 24 on Westwood One. The streak may continue if Harlan ends up adding one of the NBA games for Warner Brothers Discovery Sports on Tuesday, October 25.
Top observation: ESPN's Troy Aikman was all over the muffed punt in Overtime pointing out that it wasn't considered fair catch interference because Denver's own blocker initiated the contact.
Best stat: ESPN's Joe Buck pointed out that even after the Chargers recovered the muffed punt in OT, that didn't guarantee them an easy win because neither team had been able to gain a 1st Down in OT. That proved to hold true as the Chargers lost yardage on 1st and 2nd Down and didn't gain enough yardage on 3rd down forcing them into a 39-yard field goal attempt.
Best timing: ESPN's Joe Buck pointed out that only two teams have trailed the entire game and won on the last play of the game this season. The LA Chargers became the third team to do so after Dustin Hopkins made a 39-yard field goal.
Best stat: ESPN's Joe Buck pointed out that Dustin Hopkins managed to go 4/4 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points despite tweaking his ham string on his first extra point during the game.
Best interview: ESPN's Lisa Salters asked Chargers Dustin Hopkins what distance he felt would be the best he could perform that night with the tweaked ham string. Hopkins responded that it didn't matter to him because he was able to make the necessary kicks when he was called upon, so he couldn't give an accurate answer.
