College football gets an early start this year with the FCS Kickoff. ESPN will broadcast the brewing rivalry between Sam Houston State and Eastern Washington all across the world.
This is the third year these two schools have met consecutively and the fourth time overall. Last year the Bearkats managed to outgun and outscore the Eagles 49-34 in a game nobody saw since it was on Comcast SportsNet Houston.
The previous two meetings both occurred in Cheney, Washington, and they both proved to be highly entertaining. In 2012 the two met in the FCS Semifinals, with the Bearkats managing to squeeze by Eagles 45-42, a game that was broadcast nationwide on ESPNU. The first meeting occurred in the FCS Quarterfinals back in 2004, with the Bearkats again sneaking out with a 35-34 win. The game went untelevised as ESPN didn't have ESPN3 up and running yet.
Despite the Bearkats 3-0 series lead, these two teams have shown they know how to score and entertain a crowd. With the tightness these two have had the past couple of seasons, this will be a game any true football fan should want to watch over the NFL Preseason.
