Sunday's News and Notes by Rudy Martzke (Nov 21 edition)

Funniest line: Fox Sports Terry Bradshaw, on Fox NFL Sunday to guest analyst Von Miller, “I’m the Ted Koppel of the bunch. I ask the tough questions.”

Top info: CBS Sports Andrew Catalon noted Texans Head Coach David Culley was so excited before his first game that an assistant coach had to remind him to take his Red Challenge Flags as he might need them.

Worst line: Fox Sports Mark Schlereth, “Kwon Alexander just brings energy.”

Best production: Fox Sports production team captured Panthers QB Cam Newton sprinting to the Panthers logo at mid-field and placing the ball. Cam had just scored a rushing TD.

Best analysis: CBS Sports James Lofton noted the Titans defense was in Coverage Zero. "Nobody is back, meaning they are coming after the Quarterback." The Texans then called a timeout.

Best line: CBS Sports Andrew Catalon, on an intentional grounding penalty to end the 1st half, “Wow! What a huge penalty against Tennessee. With the 10 second runoff that’s the end of the 1st Half.”

Top production: Fox Sports Production Team captured a pregame shot of Cam Network and Ron Rivera shaking hands and patting each other.

Best line: Fox Sports Mark Sanchez, on Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke, “Sometimes it looks like he’s a Corporal in a foxhole chucking grenades because the line is too tall.”

Top nugget: Fox Sports Kevin Kugler noted after Cam Newton knocked his wrist on a teammates helmet that padded helmets are used by some teams during practices to prevent the Quarterback from hitting their wrist on a helmet.

Top observation: CBS Sports Andrew Catalon noted the Titans should have gone for 2 to make it a 2-score game at 19-8. Instead the Titans missed the extra point.

Best production: Fox Sports Production Team had perfect timing to have the Cam Newton introduction live.

Best line: Fox Sports Chris Myers, after a Nick Bosa sack on Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, “When it’s closing time, let this guy loose.”

Top observation: Fox Sports Kevin Kugler immediately noted the Washington Football Team ran out of bounds stopping the clock in a 24-21 game on 3rd and 10 with 1:54 left in the game. Kugler noted that gave Panthers an additional 35-40 seconds.

Top info: CBS Sports Andrew Catalon told viewers that Texans Head Coach David Culley visited Bill Parcells and got insights on how to turn franchises around. Catalon also noted Parcells recruited Culley to play at Vanderbilt when Parcells was an assistant.

Best analysis: Fox Sports Mike Pereira noted that officials are instructed not to get assists from replay or New York to call a penalty. It appeared they used it to call a face mask penalty on Dallas. Replay shouldn’t have been used in this instance.

Strongest comment: Fox Sports Troy Aikman, after a Cowboys defensive interception, “If this offense is the best in football that some many believe, they need to cash this in for a touchdown.”

Best line: CBS Sports Bob Wenzel, to partner Chick Hernandez about Florida State's Men’s basketball teams swarming defense, "They guarded everyone in a white jersey, then they guarded you and me!”

Best stat: Fox Sports Kenny Albert told viewers the win for the Cardinals will be their sixth road win.

Funniest line: CBS Sports Bob Wenzel, “Eveybody’s making three’s. I think I'm gonna take one!”

Best stat: NBC Sports Al Michaels noted the Pass Interference penalty call against Pittsburgh was the first PI penalty against them all season.

Best moment: NBC Sports Al Michaels did an impression of the famous line by legendary broadcaster Keith Jackson as production had a shot of a full moon, “As Keith Jackson used to say, “There’s a possum-huntin' moon over Southern California on a Sunday night.”

Dreaded Glitch Award: The NBC Sports graphic showed the wrong final score for Sunday Night Football. The final was LA Chargers 41, Pittsburgh 37.

NBC Sports Al Michaels will take a bye week next Sunday Night on Browns/Ravens. Mike Tirico will join Cris Collinsworth and Michele Tafoya on the call.

The move means Tirico and Tafoya will have two games during the week after doing Bills/Saints with Drew Brees Thanksgiving night.
