Along with the package of games that were sold to ESPN, the MWC holds packages of regional games and MWC Digital Network games. The games are still TBA, but ROOT Rocky Mountain has acquired the regional package. ROOT was widely believed to be the leading prospect since they did air the conferences regional games in 2012. The only thing most people complain about is the lack of ROOT games being available online. I wonder if the MWC will get Audience Network involved though like the Big Sky did last year so national audiences can watch these games. Here's the Press Release from the MWC.
ROOT SPORTSTM Named Official Regional Television Partner of the Mountain West Conference
DENVER, Colo. - DIRECTV Sports Networks and the Mountain West Conference have entered into a multi-year agreement, making DIRECTV Sports, and its ROOT SPORTS-branded regional sports network, the regional TV home of Mountain West football and men's basketball.
ROOT SPORTS Rocky Mountain will annually produce and televise approximately 10 football games featuring Mountain West teams, and a minimum of 25 MW intra-conference and non-conference men's basketball games, beginning with the 2013-2014 season. All events will be produced and distributed in high definition.
